Woman charged with arson in Suffolk house fire

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Smithfield girl has been charged in reference to a home fireplace on Woodrow Avenue in Suffolk Monday morning.

Suffolk fireplace officers mentioned Tuesday night time that Timika Andell Giles, 46, has been arrested and charged with risk to burn and arson.

She is being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail, officers mentioned.

Suffolk firefighters responded to the 100 block of Woodrow Avenue at 6:03 a.m. and located heavy smoke and fireplace coming from the again of the house.

The occupant of the home had evacuated earlier than crews arrived. No accidents have been reported. The home sustained heavy injury and the resident can be displaced.
