1 person confirmed dead Monday in house fire north of Middletown

A minimum of one individual was killed in a home hearth Monday morning in a growth north of Middletown. 

The individual was burned past recognition, Assistant State Fireplace Marshal  Michael G. Chionchio stated. The physique is being turned over to the State Medical Examiner’s Workplace.

The blaze at a 2.5-story farmhouse, situated within the 200 block of Oak Drive within the Airmont Acres growth, was reported about 8:35 a.m. Monday, based on volunteer hearth corporations from Middletown and Port Penn. 

Chionchio estimates the harm at about $200,000.
